Responsibilities
- Administer and score standardized neuropsychological tests and measures
- Evaluate cognitive, neuropsychological, academic, behavioral, and emotional functioning through standardized testing
- Score tests administered by the clinical neuropsychologist
- Adhere to established testing, scoring, and data collection protocols
- Aid patients in overcoming concerns, anxieties, aggressions, and resistance during testing procedures
- Interact effectively with patients and manage unexpected patient management issues
- Collect patient demographic information as required
- Document behavioral observations during assessments to support test interpretation
- Provide written summaries of patient behavior during testing, including incidental observations of interactions with family members, caregivers, or peers
- Record test results and behavioral observations accurately and completely
- Organize and present testing data in summary form
- Review scoring, data, and summary reports for completeness and accuracy
- Write progress notes in the medical record to inform hospital personnel of referral status
- Maintain testing supplies and equipment inventory and record new materials as required
- Schedule patients for testing and confirm appointments
- Maintain patient files and related documentation
- Train students on standardized test administration procedures
- Train new Psychometrists on position roles and responsibilities
- Monitor and attest to Psychometrists' accuracy in standardized test administration and scoring annually
- Assist with coordinating staffing to ensure operational coverage
- Afford assistance with research projects and special groups
- Afford responsibility for personal professional development and support the development of others
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor's Degree
- Preferred: Master's Degree in Psychology or Applied Neuroscience
- Required: Three years experience with patient testing in a psychological or academic environment
- PREFERRED: Five years experience with patient testing in a psychological or academic environment
