SENIOR PSM COORDINATOR SAND POINT SHOREPLANT

Key Responsibilities

  • Implements PSM programs and ensures that regulatory requirements are met as a minimum as directed by the Division Manager of Refrigeration Engineering.
  • Supports PSM Plan Managers directives in Regions/Plants they are assigned.
  • Attends and participates in regular meetings with PSM stakeholders.
  • Implements corporate programs and systems that drive consistency while ensuring that procedures and practices are aligned with state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of PSM (14 elements), RMP, CAA 608 and applicable state and federal rules and regulations. Keep current on changes to laws and regulations that apply to industrial refrigeration.
  • Provides technical and high level PSM related training as required.
  • Implements and maintains the above regulations, requirements, and programs.
  • Conducts audits and inspections of plant performance and activities.
  • Ensures proper and timely completion of corrective actions as a result of audits and inspections.
  • Covers Plan Managers in PSM and RMP program activities at a local and asset level which include management of change, pre-startup safety review, and process hazard analysis activities.
  • The PSM Coordinator also coordinates and participates in field MOC and PSSR meetings when needed.
  • Promotes a process safety culture and drives improvements in the PSM/RMP programs.
  • Assists on corporate PSM/RMP audits as needed.
  • Provides support during OSHA and EPA audits of the PSM and RMP programs, and other regulatory audits of refrigeration systems.
  • Provides direction to Corporate Risk Management, Engineering, Maintenance and contractors for refrigeration and related to projects / modifications.
  • Defines and prioritizes site programs to meet the needs of regulatory compliance, risk analysis recommendations, corporate policies, site specific procedures and audit findings.
  • Aids plant staff in prioritizing action items to address gaps.
  • Manages shortages of PSM personnel and cover affected regions as necessary.
  • Maintains 5-yr. MI and NDE Schedules for all Alaska Base facilities.
  • Works with PSM Plan Managers for execution of audits and follow up items.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Acquires knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions.
  • Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings.

Minimum Requirements

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience leading and coordinating PSM and RMP activities.
  • Aceessory Degree (A.A.) or equivalent, in a technical topic.
  • Food Processing background (Maintenance or Production) preferred.
  • Knowledgeable of the PSM Standard and RMP rule and be able to lead associated activities at the facility and asset level.
  • Formal training in facilitating HAZWOP and What-if/Checklist PHAs preferred; or be willing to complete such training.
  • Formal training in MI Inspections preferred; or be willing to complete such training.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to be familiar with the use of design software, as well as word processing and spreadsheets is expected.

Special Training/Skills

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to supervisor and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

Physical Demands

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee is frequently required to climb or balance.
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
  • The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.

Mental Activities

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to understand English, and utilize teamwork skills.
  • The employee is frequently required to speak English, and use decision making skills.
  • The employee is occasionally required to use interpersonal, customer service, mentoring, problem analysis, training and supervision skills.
  • The employee will be occasionally required to read and write English, perform basic math, use exercise independent judgment, and use discretion.
