Senior Proposal Specialist
Marsh has an amazing opportunity for a Senior Proposal Specialist that can be based in any US location near a Marsh office. This role is part of the IMPACT internal resource group, focused on increasing business success through winning, retaining, and expanding client relationships.
About the role
The Senior Proposal Specialist (Proposal Manager) leads responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) by coordinating teams, developing value propositions, writing and editing proposals, and ensuring deadlines are met. The IMPACT process emphasizes creating client-centric solutions through research, communication, and strategic messaging. This seasoned professional works independently, designs project plans, facilitates strategy sessions, and drives hands-on implementation.
Responsibilities
- Write persuasive proposal and presentation content, including executive summaries, tailored to the reader’s needs and knowledge level while adhering to company best practices.
- Review RFPs to fully understand submission requirements and identify strategic opportunities to enhance client value.
- Facilitate strategy formulation with Client Managers and consulting teams to identify client business drivers and develop optimal proposal themes and graphic approaches.
- Determine research needs, delegate tasks, or perform research as needed.
- Identify internal points of contact to gather practice- and project-specific information when not available in knowledge management systems.
- Collaborate with the design team to create compelling design concepts, including storyboarding, and facilitate the design review process.
- Manage the proposal and presentation development process, assuming full responsibility for small/low-complexity projects and major responsibility for large/complex projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, journalism, marketing, English, communications, or a related field.
- 7–10 years of relevant experience.
- Excellent organizational, communication, facilitation, writing, and editing skills.
- Prior RFP and proposal experience preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Unique or “outside-the-box” skills that add value, such as digital expertise, technology, web platforms, or graphic design.
- Compelling work product examples (written or visual).
- Experience in the insurance or brokerage industry.

Pay
The base salary range for this role is $100,400 to $213,800, determined by factors such as experience, skills, location, and education. The position may also be eligible for performance-based incentives. A competitive total rewards package includes health and welfare benefits, retirement programs, and employee assistance programs.
Schedule
Marsh is committed to a hybrid work model, requiring colleagues to work in their local office or onsite with clients at least three days per week. Teams will designate at least one “anchor day” per week for in-person collaboration.
