Senior Proposal Engineer

Summary of Role

The Senior Proposal System Engineer, Turbine prepares technical and commercial proposals in response to client requests. They oversee the technical aspects of the proposal, including supply, logistics, engineering, and quality assurance costs. They also lead technical negotiations and ensure the final proposal accurately reflects the agreement with the client.

Principal Duties

• Work closely with the Proposal Manager, Cost Estimator, and Installation Coordinator to optimize technical aspects of the proposal.
• Establish the supply plan with the support of the Cost Estimator.
• Preliminary design of turbine components for the proposal.
• Prepare RFQ packages for generator or turbine components and site services.
• Negotiate and clarify with key vendors/subcontractors, working with the Cost Estimator.
• Provide key inputs to the development of the winning strategy for the technical offer, validate the strategy, and ensure it is followed by the proposal team.
• Lead and challenge assigned engineering resources performing the turbine design for the proposal.
• Schedule and track progress of proposal team members, including logistics and field engineering teams, to ensure the complete technical package is finished on time.
• Conduct technical risk analysis and include required actions/exceptions in the proposal.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred.
• Experience in hydroelectricity, energy-producing equipment, or related design and manufacturing activities.
• Experience in technical coordination of engineering activities and subcontracting.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Occasional travel may be required.
