About the role

The Senior Property Inspection Specialist position is responsible for overseeing the inspection vendor program, conducting project research, and providing technical assistance to underwriters and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee inspection vendor program including onboarding, training, workflow, and quality assurance.
  • Occasional CAT duty as needed.
  • Maintain ongoing education focused on technical home construction, including high-value homes, code changes, new materials and construction methods, construction type and property risk guidelines, use of valuator tools, geographic replacement value and property risk differences, and known concerns within the industry for residential housing.
  • Identify, analyze, and recommend improvements and changes to inspection workflow, guidelines, and automated rules.
  • Ensure prompt and accurate delivery of requested inspections.
  • Develop, direct, and present technical and educational assistance to underwriters and staff in other departments such as Sales and Product.
  • Maintain network of Property Claims resources and knowledge of company property loss experience and trends.
  • Deliver results though a collaborative environment by communicating openly and contributing equitably to maximize contribution based on volume of inspection requests.
  • Aid in resolving escalated issues relating to the inspection program and provide solutions.
  • Demonstrate behaviors consistent with PEMCO's policies, values, code of ethics and business conduct.

Requirements

  • Associates degree or equivalent work experience (Construction management, business or equivalent) is required.
  • B.A. or B.S. degree or equivalent work experience is preferred.
  • 4 years' experience in property related insurance role with increasing levels of responsibility is required.
  • Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation preferred.

  • MS Office: Skilled proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook is required.
  • Valid driver's license and a good driving record is required.

Pay

The pay range for this role is shown below. Compensation decisions are determined based on an individual’s qualifications, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Greater Seattle area target pay range: $105,762-$129,264. The full pay range is $88,135-$146,891. Outside greater Seattle area target pay range: $93,337-$114,079. The full pay range is $77,781-$129,634. Greater Seattle Area is defined as working within approximately 100 miles of Seattle. Outside Greater Seattle is defined as working approximately 100 miles or more from Seattle.

Schedule

Regular part-time PEMCO employees working at least 24 hours per week and regular full-time PEMCO employees are eligible to elect coverage under medical, dental, and vision plans for themselves and their eligible family members with generous employer premium cost shares. In addition, as a benefits-eligible employee, you are covered by employer-paid basic life and accidental death & dismemberment insurance policies as well as long- and short-term disability benefit coverages. Eligible to participate in PEMCO’s 401(k) plan, which includes a generous employer match (2 for 1 on the first 6% employee pre-tax and/or Roth deferral, up to federal maximums).
