Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly financial information in accordance with deadlines/requirements while adhering to accounting policies and procedures and maintaining effective internal controls
  • Prepare financials for multiple clients with different reporting requirements
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with clients and property management in a timely manner while providing exceptional customer service
  • Achieve detailed technical accounting skills to assess appropriateness of accounting treatment
  • Manage cash flow to pay property expenses and predict funding needs
  • Record journal entries & accruals, reconcile income, and document prepaid rent using industry-specific software
  • Conduct monthly bank reconciliations as necessary
  • Process cash disbursements through wires and checks, prepare invoices, and handle inter-company collections, maintaining a daily cash balance
  • Act as a mentor to help train new or less experienced accounting staff
  • Contribute to the preparation & maintenance of written policies & procedures for functions/duties performed

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience
  • At least 2 years of property management experience
  • Preferred or equivalent experience in industry-specific software: Yardi, MRI, and/or RealPage/Onesite
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

  • Physical requirements: Sit or stand for extended periods, read documents, computer screens, and data, hear and understand verbal communications, lift up to 15 pounds, operate computers, keyboards, and other office equipment

Pay

The anticipated salary range is $65,000 - $85,000 annually.

Schedule

This is a hybrid role, requiring the associate to work in one of our corporate or regional offices 4 days per week. The office is an open setting which may include bright lights, constant noises and distractions.
