Overview
The Senior Property Accountant at RPM will support accounting and financial reporting for RPM. This role will handle financial reporting, cash management, and the general ledger for a portfolio of properties.
Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly financial information in accordance with deadlines/requirements while adhering to accounting policies and procedures and maintaining effective internal controls
- Effectively communicate and collaborate with clients and property management in a timely manner while providing exceptional customer service
- Use detailed technical accounting skills to assess appropriateness of accounting treatment
- Manage cash flow to pay property expenses and predict funding needs
- Record journal entries & accruals, reconcile income, and document prepaid rent using industry-specific software
- Reconcile all balance sheet accounts monthly
- Perform bank reconciliations as appropriate
- Prepare and disburse payments through wires and checks, prepare invoices, and manage inter-company collections, maintaining a daily cash balance
- Act as a mentor to help train new or less experienced accounting staff
- Participate in the preparation & maintenance of written policies & procedures for functions/duties performed
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by Supervisor or Executive Team
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience
- 2+ Years of Property Management Experience
- Preferred or equivalent
- Preferred Industry Specific Software: Yardi, MRI, and/or RealPage/Onesite
- Microsoft Office
Physical Requirements
- May be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time
- Must be able to read documents, computer screens and data
- Must be able to hear and understand verbal communications in person and over the phone or computer
- May occasionally be required to lift or carry items such as files or office supplies weighing up to 15 pounds
- Must be able to operate a computer, keyboard, mouse and other office equipment
Work Environment
- This is a hybrid role, requiring the associate to work in one of our corporate or regional offices 4 days per week
- The office is an open setting which may include bright lights, constant noises and distractions

Compensation
The anticipated salary range is $65,000 - $85,000 annually.
