About the role
We are currently seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Senior Property Accountant to join our fast-paced construction company. This individual will play a crucial role in our accounting department, focusing primarily on our property accounting and commercial real estate accounting needs. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including preparing financial statements, analyzing budgets, and ensuring compliance with regulations. This role requires a thorough understanding of Yardi software, as it will be used daily to manage and report on our company’s financial activities.
Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of property accounting, including the preparation of financial statements, budget analysis, and forecasting.
- Oversee commercial real estate accounting, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Utilize Yardi software for financial management and reporting.
- Coordinate with the accounting team to ensure all financial reports are accurate and submitted on time.
- Review and analyze property and portfolio level financial statements.
- Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards.
- Collaborate with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance.
- Interact with management to provide consultative support to planning initiatives through financial and management information analyses, reports, and recommendations.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- A Master’s degree or CPA is preferred.
- A minimum of 3–5 years of experience in property accounting and commercial real estate accounting is required.
- Proficiency with Yardi software is a must.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and other accounting principles.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex data.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Proactive and able to identify issues and propose solutions.
- Strong computer skills, particularly with Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience in the construction industry is a plus.

Salary: $80,000 – $100,000 per year
