Senior Property Accountant

Job Overview

Atlantic Group is hiring a Senior Property Accountant in Westchester County, NY for their client's property accounting, financial reporting, and commercial real estate operations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly financial statements, account reconciliations, and financial reporting for a portfolio of real estate assets.
• Monitor financial performance, analyze operating results, prepare budget variance analyses, and support budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Supervise, mentor, and review the work of accounting staff while providing guidance, training, and technical support.
• Partner with internal and external stakeholders to support accounting, reporting, and operational initiatives.
• Cook up audits, support tax reporting, and ensure compliance with accounting policies and reporting requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting accuracy, internal controls, and operational efficiency while supporting special projects.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
• Experience: 5–8 years of accounting experience, including at least 4 years of property accounting, is required.
• Industry Knowledge: Strong knowledge of GAAP, property accounting, financial reporting, account reconciliations, budgeting, and commercial real estate accounting is required.
• Technical Skills: Experience with MRI, Yardi Nexus, Microsoft Excel, or similar real estate accounting and reporting systems is required.
