About the Role

The Senior Project Superintendent oversees all field activities for one or more projects, including on-site field administration, supervision, and technical management of construction operations. This role involves mentoring and managing project staff, including Project Superintendents, Assistant Project Superintendents, Field Engineers, and laborers. Responsibilities include daily construction operations, subcontractor oversight, and ensuring project success under various delivery methods and market sectors.

Responsibilities

Supervise and mentor project staff, including Project Superintendents, Assistant Project Superintendents, Field Engineers, and laborers.
Manage projects with budgets of $150M+ under diverse delivery methods and market sectors.
Oversee large project teams, including WEO personnel, subcontractors, and vendors.
Lead the RFQ/RFP process and contribute to securing new projects.
Develop, maintain, and enforce project-specific site logistics plans, safety programs, and quality control measures.
Coordinate material deliveries, subcontracts, and field inspections.
Assist in preparing scopes of work for bid packages and subcontractor subcontracts.
Provide input on field activities impacting the Change Order process.
Develop and enforce baseline schedules, 8-week look-ahead schedules, and SWPPP measures.
Maintain QSP certification if required by the project.
Enforce contractual obligations and maintain accurate project documentation, including As-Builts.
Provide technical assistance to the project team and coordinate field inspections/testing.
Assist in preparing the Monthly Reconciliation Report and forecasts.
Prepare and maintain P6 baseline schedules and 8-week look-ahead schedules.
Document schedule delays and update the master P6 schedule.
Monitor job site control reporting and assign tasks to field support staff.
Document existing project conditions via video/photos and maintain progress records.
Conduct or delegate meeting minutes for subcontractor, safety, and pre-installation meetings.
Create and issue project-specific Incident Reports.
Schedule and chair JHA-related meetings, utilizing WEO’s safety department as needed.
Oversee daily subcontractor activities and provide input on cost impacts.
Document change orders, back charges, and potential claims/legal actions.
Ensure compliance with insurance, labor relations, and EEO requirements.
Supervise WEO or third-party laborers and submit weekly time sheets.
Assist in developing General Conditions budgets and subcontractor scopes of work.
Enforce WEO and Cal-OSHA safety standards.
Collect daily man counts and write comprehensive daily reports.
Create and manage completion/punch lists to ensure timely project closeout.
Mentor field staff and conduct annual performance reviews.
Develop a coaching tree for future Project Superintendents and Field Engineers.

Qualifications

Four-year degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent experience.
10-15 years of relevant field experience as a Field Engineer, Assistant Project Superintendent, or Project Superintendent.
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Microsoft Project, P6, and project management software (e.g., Prolog, Viewpoint, CMiC).
Experience with daily software tools such as Bluebeam, Plan Grid, Safety Mojo, and BIM 360 Glue.
Knowledge of construction delivery methods, market sectors, building trades, and technical aspects of construction.
OSHA 30-Hour Safety Course completion.
First Aid and CPR certification.
