The City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. The salary range for this position is $86,634-142,947/year. New hires are typically brought into the organization between $86,634-117,000/year, based on education and experience. Responsibilities
Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned projects and programs, maintaining clear communication with internal and external stakeholders and offering training to enhance user experience when applicable.
Establish and manage baseline schedules, track progress, and perform risk analysis to identify and resolve critical path and network logic conflicts.
Collaborate with project delivery teams, financial analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment between project schedules and broader program goals.
Incorporate approved change orders into project schedules and assess their impact on timelines and deliverables.
Evaluate schedule compliance and performance, identifying root causes for delays or shortfalls and recommending corrective actions.
Oversee and support the maintenance of project schedules by team members and support staff, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Support the creation and implementation of scheduling policies, templates, processes, and procedures to ensure consistency and efficiency across the project portfolio.
Support the maintenance and enhancement of Primavera P6 project database.
Support the creation of recurring reports detailing contract, portfolio, and project performance, specifically with respect to schedule, budget, cash flow, and earned value management.
As necessary, provide clarification and context related to reporting for leadership.
Support development and maintenance of the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) master schedule by developing high-level schedules and cash flows. Additionally, support CIP status reporting for executive and division leadership.
Train and mentor staff on scheduling tools, methodologies, and best practices to build internal capacity and consistency.
Requirements
Proficiency in Primavera P6, with demonstrated experience managing complex project and program schedules within a portfolio environment.
Familiarity with database management within P6, including maintaining and organizing project and program data for reporting and compliance.
Strong background in program schedule management, including the ability to oversee multiple interdependent projects and timelines.
Experience supporting multiple concurrent capital projects within a portfolio is a big plus, but not required.
Familiarity with cost, change, risk, and estimating management.
Experience supporting portfolio performance reporting with a focus on financials, scheduling, and earned value management (EVM).
Experience/familiarity with interpreting construction contracts and evaluating schedule impacts related to delays, claims, or change orders (preferred not required).
Experience in construction or engineering industries such as aviation, transportation, infrastructure, heavy civil, vertical construction, defense/military facilities, power/energy systems, hospitals, or other large-scale, complex operational environments.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across project teams and provide constructive feedback to internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment while effectively managing multiple priorities.
Qualifications
Education requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, Engineering or a related field.
Experience Requirement: 4 years of experience creating project schedules, developing, and maintaining integrated, resource-loaded project schedules.
Education/Experience Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education.
Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.
