About the role
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Project or Program Manager with deep expertise in managing complex client engagements, particularly within the banking industry, to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for a strategic leader who excels in managing large-scale projects, building strong executive relationships, and driving successful outcomes through effective governance, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor to executive sponsors, owning the client relationship across complex engagements or multiple concurrent programs.
- Lead and facilitate executive-level discussions, ensuring alignment across business and technology stakeholders.
- Drive full project lifecycle delivery, including planning, execution, and delivery of banking conversion initiatives and M&A activities.
- Oversee program governance including risk management, schedule oversight, and issue/action tracking to ensure timely and successful delivery.
- Provide strategic and objective feedback to clients, holding all parties accountable and maintaining momentum throughout the engagement.
- Manage and mentor multiple sub-project managers (internal and external) to ensure consistent project execution and alignment with overall program goals.
- Leverage strong knowledge of bank operations to guide conversations, identify impacts, and shape solutions—while detailed functional expertise is not required, a working knowledge is beneficial.
- Have an in-depth understanding of the technical ecosystems that most institutions rely on to operate. While specific core provider knowledge is helpful, understanding should be core agnostic.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of project or program management experience, ideally in banking or financial services.
- Proven experience leading conversion projects and M&A integrations.
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with a demonstrated ability to build relationships at the executive level.
- Deep understanding of program-level risk, issue, and schedule management.
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams and adapt to dynamic client environments.
- PMP or similar certification preferred.
