Senior Project Manager, Water/Wastewater Treatment

About the role

We are seeking a Water/Wastewater Sr. Project Manager to join our dynamic team. This position involves managing a team of professionals, collaborating with various technical disciplines, and assisting senior engineers in complex engineering design tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of design professionals and technicians
  • Mentor and supervise staff to develop high-performing project teams
  • Perform business development/application tasks and collaborate with staff to increase project wins and develop long-lasting client relationships
  • Routine tasks include: participating in business line teams to manage and develop proposals, client-facing activities, scope of work documents and estimates, collaboration with multiple business lines to develop opportunities, quality reviews, assisting senior engineers/designers with developing and managing the project scope, budget, staffing, and schedule, performing complex engineering design tasks, designing basis documents, engineering calculations, equipment sizing and selection, engineering drawings, feasibility studies, presentations to clients, regulatory agencies, and/or project stakeholders, conducting and/or coordinating quality assurance and quality control on assigned projects, facilitating independent technical reviews, assisting with the management of the design and construction of projects, developing project management plans, establishing goals and objectives for unique and complex projects, ensuring successful project execution, making decisions on large projects, coordinating with the regulatory review to seek final approval, managing projects of varying complexity within multidisciplinary teams, researching and understanding issues related to regulatory and other drivers that impact individual projects, assisting business leaders in project revenue forecasting, overseeing proposals including development of the scope and level of effort of comparable size, undertaking decisions and recommendations governed by general policy and project management governance, supervising local staff, providing mentoring and coaching for future leaders, including development of succession plans for key positions.

Requirements

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • Minimum of 15 years related experience in project management, preferably for water/wastewater projects
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain license within 6 months
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) is a plus
  • Demonstrated successful experience in leadership, including defining and setting the direction for a team, project, and office; strategy development; change management; and corporate stewardship
  • Travel to other offices as well as to project sites may be required

Qualifications

  • Ability to perform mass & energy balance and process equipment sizing calculations and coordinate with other engineering disciplines including stress/structural, instrumentation & controls, and electrical
  • Understanding of local and regional jurisdictional codes, legal and design requirements in relevant jurisdictions

Pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
