About the role
CDM Smith is growing in North Carolina and seeks an experienced Sr. Water/Wastewater Project Manager to join their Charlotte, North Carolina operations.
Responsibilities
- Manage multi-million dollar planning and design projects, project teams, and develop project scopes and budgets.
- Work with local sales staff on business development strategies for existing and new clients, including pursuit of alternative project delivery opportunities in the Charlotte-Metro area and Western North Carolina.
- Contribute to clients' mission by managing water/wastewater design, permitting, and construction services from early concept development through construction.
- Serve as a leader of project teams and mentor junior staff, including coordinating and reviewing project assignments.
- Prepare, monitor, and manage project budgets and schedules while managing the firm’s risk.
- Provide high-level planning and program analysis work including preparation of technical documents/reports.
- Aid in new business development by contributing to strategic planning, marketing, and business operations planning.
- Collaborate with sales staff to create proposals in response to client requests for proposals (RFPs).
- Review draft proposals for adherence to firm, industry, state, local, and federal regulations and best practices.
- Interface with clients and government officials to clarify technical questions and provide updates to upper management as necessary.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree.
- 10 years of related experience.
- PMP (PMI), CCM or DBIA certification within 12 months of hire or promotion onto the Approved Project Manager list.
- Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
Qualifications
- Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental or chemical engineering.
- Professional engineering (PE) license.
- Project management experience on water/wastewater treatment and infrastructure design projects in North Carolina.
- Alternative project delivery experience.

Pay
The pay range for this position is USD $120,973.00 - USD $211,723.00 per year.
Schedule
The amount of travel required is 10% or less.
