Senior Project Manager (Relocation to Aberdeen, SD)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our Aberdeen, South Dakota office. This role is ideal for a strategic, hands-on leader who enjoys owning outcomes, guiding teams, and delivering complex projects safely, on budget, and on schedule.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing and fully understanding project contracts, specifications, scope, budgets, and allowances prior to project start
• Making sure the project stays on track by monitoring progress weekly, including labor costs, material costs, and productivity
• Identifying ways to improve the project by suggesting value engineering and better fabrication or installation methods
• Working closely with project/site leaders and operations managers to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
• Managing job cost reporting, progress billings, and overall project profitability
• Coordinating schedules, including subcontractor timelines, and updating overall project schedules monthly
• Solving problems that arise during the project, such as scope, schedule, safety, or productivity issues
• Approving invoices for materials, labor, vendors, subcontractors, and rentals
• Handling change orders with clients, general contractors, suppliers, and internal teams

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Technology, or a related field (Associate's degree considered with relevant experience)
• 5+ years of project management experience, including 3+ years leading projects
• Strong working knowledge of contracts, budgeting, scheduling, and cost controls
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple stakeholders
• Strong communication skills and comfort presenting to clients and leadership
• A commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
• Ability to stay organized, prioritize effectively, and perform under tight deadlines

Pay

Base salary range: $90,000 - $130,000, based on experience, education, and responsibility
