Senior Project Manager Public Construction North Jersey

The Senior Project Manager will:

• Lead a large-scale institutional construction project from preconstruction through closeout
• Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, architects, consultants, and project stakeholders
• Provide leadership to project teams including Project Engineers, Assistant Project Managers, Superintendents, and support staff
• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and reporting processes
• Administer owner contracts, subcontracts, and procurement activities
• Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation
• Cook up design, engineering, and construction efforts to ensure project success
• Lead project meetings and effectively communicate progress, risks, and solutions
• Monitor project financial performance and maintain budget objectives
• Identify and proactively mitigate project risks
• Oversee Quality Assurance and Quality Control initiatives
• Ensure successful project turnover, closeout, and client satisfaction

Profile

A successful Senior Project Manager should have:

• Experience managing public construction projects within the property industry
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, safety regulations, and compliance standards
• Proven ability to manage budgets and schedules effectively
• Excellent communication and leadership skills to coordinate with diverse teams
• Ability to problem-solve and adapt to project challenges
• Familiarity with construction management software and tools

The successful Senior Project Manager will have:

• 10+ years of experience with a General Contractor or Construction Manager
• Proven experience leading large-scale construction projects valued at $30M+
• Experience with institutional, higher education, public sector, laboratory, healthcare, or technically complex projects preferred
• Design-Build experience strongly preferred
• Demonstrated ability to manage projects from preconstruction through completion
• Strong client-facing communication and relationship management skills
• Ability to lead project teams and mentor junior construction professionals
• Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred
• Strong understanding of budgeting, scheduling, contract administration, and project controls
• Ability to effectively manage multiple stakeholders in a complex project environment
• Reputation for professionalism, integrity, accountability, and strong work ethic
