Connexion Systems & Engineering is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead complex, cross-functional New Product Introduction (NPI) projects with a focus on Mechanical/Machine Design.

About the Role

The Senior Project Manager will oversee projects from concept through launch, collaborating with Engineering, Product Management, Operations, Sales, Service, Supply Chain, and other teams to deliver successful new products.

Responsibilities

  • Lead full project lifecycle from initiation through completion, managing scope, schedule, budget, resources, risks, and deliverables.
  • Lead the end-to-end NPI process for machines, automation, accessories, and product options.
  • Partner with Engineering and cross-functional teams through design reviews, prototype builds, pilot installations, launch readiness, documentation, training, pricing, and service preparation.
  • Develop project charters, schedules, budgets, resource plans, and status reports.
  • Lead cross-functional teams, drive accountability, resolve issues, and escalate risks as needed.
  • Facilitate project meetings, executive reviews, and key decision-making sessions.
  • Maintain standardized NPI processes, stage gates, and project documentation.
  • Track project performance and identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Promote PMO standards, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Support portfolio reviews, project audits, lessons learned, and mentoring of other project managers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Operations, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of project management experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives.
  • Proven experience leading mechanical/machine design projects, NPI programs, or similar product development initiatives.
  • Experience managing enterprise-level projects with significant budgets.
  • Manufacturing, industrial automation, CNC machine tools, or related industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid project management methodologies.
  • PMP certification preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Teams, SharePoint, and related project management tools.
  • Excellent communication, organization, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to influence and lead teams without direct authority.

Pay

$115,000–$130,000 per year

Schedule

  • Monday – Friday, standard business hours
  • Onsite in Marlborough, MA
  • Approximately 10–20% travel required
