About the role
We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on groundbreaking projects across the US.
Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of multi-discipline projects and clients from the proposal process to project closeout
- Plan, direct, and coordinate activities including client meetings, public hearings, and public involvement events
- Anticipate client needs, biases, and preferences and tailor communication and work output accordingly
- Team Leadership: Leading a team of engineers, technicians, and support staff, assigning tasks, providing guidance, and monitoring project progress in multiple locations
- Client Relations: Establishing and maintaining relationships with municipal clients, understanding their needs, and ensuring project requirements are met
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring projects comply with relevant municipal codes, regulations, and environmental standards
- Budgeting and Resource Management: Developing project budgets, allocating resources effectively, and monitoring expenditures to ensure cost control
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Identifying potential risks and challenges, developing risk mitigation strategies, and resolving issues that may arise during project execution
- Contract Management: Overseeing contract negotiations, reviewing contractor performance, and ensuring compliance with contractual agreements
- Prepare or coordinate preparation of project / client correspondence and documentation
- Participate in and lead business development activities to new and existing clients through the following activities: plans, leads and participates in client meetings and networking events
- Continuous Improvement: Identifying opportunities for process improvements, implementing best practices, and promoting innovation within the municipal engineering department
- Understanding of alternative funding sources for municipal projects, and ability to secure funding
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited school
- Registration as a professional engineer (or the ability to obtain registration within six months)
- 8+ years municipal experience; direct experience working for a municipality
- Experience working with the City of Oklahoma City is preferred
- A history in delivering projects with positive customer service experiences
- The ability and desire to develop an understanding of, or even anticipate the client’s needs
Qualifications
- Experience in managing municipal CIP programs and projects, clients, and staff in this market
Skills
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficient in project management software
- Knowledge of municipal codes, regulations, and environmental standards
- Ability to secure funding for municipal projects
