About the role
Mace is seeking a full-time Senior Project Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery of a high-profile, multi-million-dollar mixed-use retail project in Los Angeles for a globally recognized sportswear and lifestyle brand.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate Mace's value of safety first, including promoting and following health, safety and environment (HSE) policies and regulations, and committing to enhancing site safety culture and initiatives throughout all phases of the project.
- Provide strategic advice and act as the key client and consultant interface from project inception/brief, through development and planning, contractor procurement and construction phase.
- Establish key relationships with the client and other key stakeholders (real estate development, retail operations, digital, merchandising, IT, finance, procurement, branding etc.).
- Communicate with executive-level stakeholders.
- Direct and manage the performance of cross-functional project teams, specialist retail design teams, consultants, contractors and vendors to ensure successful execution.
- Coordinate the project team to obtain entitlements from the city of West Hollywood, and landlord/lease requirements.
- Implement an appropriate and effective project management framework, including establishing and managing effective project governance, processes and systems to be utilized throughout a project.
- Produce and maintain the project execution plan (PEP), RACI, risk log, and change control register.
- Manage and document weekly progress and coordination meetings.
- Manage the reporting and the flow of project information between the team and the client.
- Monitor and apply performance management techniques and use KPI’s to improve project performance.
- Determine, procure and arrange technical services and external resources required for the project on behalf of the client organization, including developing and coordinating briefs and scopes, reviewing fees and proposals, undertaking bid leveling, and making recommendations.
- Perform contract administration for consultants and contractors (change requests, risk identification, payment application reviews etc.).
- Conduct site inspections to verify progress and provide quality assurance.
- Manage project budgets and financials, including leading value engineering and cost optimization activities.
- Develop and integrate stakeholder, consultant, contractor and vendor delivery schedules.
- Partner with project stakeholders to drive proactive risk management and mitigation strategies.
- Anticipate and implement strategies to address quality, safety, health and environment issues.
- Coordinate closeout activities including punch lists, commissioning, training, and post-occupancy support.
- Ensure approved handover documentation is coordinated and provided prior to completion.
- Provide subject matter knowledge from the broader Mace projects and business units to support teams and ensure optimal project outcomes.
- Network to innovate, seek understanding of best practice, utilize the full depth of knowledge of Mace group, centers of excellence, Mace way control center and knowledge hub.

Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in a related field such as project management and/or construction related discipline (MS preferred), or equivalent professional experience/apprenticeship.
- 8+ years of client-facing project leadership experience, including delivery of flagship retail, mixed-use, experiential, or high-design projects.
- Substantial experience in the construction phase of projects.
- Experience of developing and forming relationships with senior stakeholders.
- Strong communication, presentation, and executive-level reporting skills.
- Commercial and financial acumen.
- Experience with US procurement and delivery methods (DBB, DB, CMAR) and commercial contract administration.
- Proficiency in project management tools; MS Project or P6, cost/controls basics, and common data environments (SharePoint, Procore, Aconex, ACC/BIM 360, or similar).
Skills
- Membership of RICS, CIOB, APM, ICE or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.
- Project management institute (PMI) certification or program management certification.
- Experience with Los Angeles specific entitlements (e.g., City of West Hollywood approvals).
- Strong Los Angeles industry network including designers, GCs, and retail specialty vendors.
- Experience contributing to work winning and business growth.
