About the role

The Project Manager position is responsible for ensuring the successful completion of projects within the expected scope, time, and quality expectations. This role effectively manages the coordination and communications of a project as it relates to scope, schedule, budget, quality, risks, procurement, and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively manage project-related issues, with particular emphasis on those that may affect the scope, schedule, and/or budget, and devise contingency plans.
  • Direct and manage project development from beginning to end.
  • Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
  • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
  • Coach, mentor, motivate, and supervise project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
  • Comply with all BWL policies and work rules.
  • Ensure predictable and reliable attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology, Project Management, or other related field from an accredited college or university; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of seven to ten years of related experience.
  • Proficient with the principles of Project Management as defined by the PMBOK Guide, 6th Edition.
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing Application Development projects.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience implementing Commercial Off the Shelf systems.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing IT vendors.
  • Practical experience implementing full system development lifecycle for large IT projects.
  • Practical experience working in a large, complex Information Technology environment.
  • Experience managing project budgets of over $1M.
  • Experience managing project teams of 10+ resources.
  • Experience managing multiple, concurrent projects of high complexity.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, project scheduling software (Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Changepoint, Clarity).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project/Program/Portfolio Management Professional (PMP, PgMP, or PfMP) certification.

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for the majority of the working day.
  • Needs to move about inside the office environment.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office equipment.
  • Ability to adjust focus, especially due to concentration on a computer screen.
  • Must communicate frequently with other departments and employees both verbally and in writing.
  • May need to lift and carry up to 30 pounds and/or position the body to reach items on the floor/below the knee level or above head.
  • On occasion, may need to use stairs.
  • Constantly works in a temperature-controlled office environment.
