Senior Project Manager - Healthcare

About the role
We are seeking a Senior Project Manager-Healthcare to join our Healthcare Buildings Practice for our Architecture team. As a senior contributor, you will work independently to assist clients through the planning and creation of fiscally responsible, cutting-edge designs. Your experience ensures familiarity with construction plans, specifications, estimates, and building codes. You will innovate and create new prototypes designed with sustainable products and green architecture sensibilities as your goals. You will lead the development of integrated design proposals, manage project financials, and coordinate with clients while leading and mentoring others.
Responsibilities
- Manage complex tasks on medium-to-large-size projects.
- Plan, organize, and direct the work throughout the life of the project to successfully deliver it to the client.
- Keep the Principal in Charge informed of progress on project expectations, deadlines, and deliverables.
- Lead the client and project team to assure the project design meets the client budget, schedule, program, and design intent.
- Assist in the negotiation and development of project agreements.
- Develop and manage project budget, schedule, and overall work plan to realize target financial performance.
- Mentor Assistant Project Managers and motivate project teams.
- Ensure Project Management Framework tasks are timely completed and properly documented.
- Lead project coordination and owner/site meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner, contractor, and sub-contractors.
- Manage and track change orders, applications for payment by contractors, and other contractual modifications impacting budget and schedule.
- Work with Operations Manager in determining project staffing needs and recommending personnel.
- Direct client invoicing and effectively manage collections.
Requirements
- Capable of simultaneously supporting one or more Principals in Charge on multiple projects.
- Thorough understanding of accessibility codes, life-safety codes, building construction systems, means and methods, materials, and industry-associated standards.
- California Healthcare (HCAI) experience is a plus.
- Takes direction well but proactively takes appropriate action without requiring continued direction.
- Effectively manages multiple deadlines and priorities.
- Team player with the client, entire project team, and contractor.
- Effective negotiator and communicator.
- Understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, Newforma; experience with Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp preferred.
- Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or related field.
- Architecture license required (any state).
- Minimum of 10 years of experience.
- LEED Green Associate or LEED AP is a plus.
Work Environment
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
