Senior Project Manager - Federal and State Mandates

The Senior Project Manager role is located in Norfolk, VA candidates are preferred. Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive project strategies that align with federal and state mandates.
- Lead the planning, execution, and closure of complex projects, ensuring adherence to all regulatory requirements.
- Maintain current knowledge of federal and state regulations affecting project scope and deliverables.
- Apply project management knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to project deliverables, processes, and systems.
- Coaches and mentors project team members.
- Mentors other project managers.
- Determines project scope.
- Develops resource, risk, quality, cost, and scope management plans.
- Develops training plans; develops requirements documents.
- Develops project approval matrix.
- Identifies project team training and tool needs.
- Defines, recommends and secures contractual agreements for services and products.
- Captures requirements, schedules implementation and post-implement plans, and develops service-level agreements for vendor partners and global resources firms.
- Defines quality gates for each project methodology phase.
- Defines critical success factors; and establishes and manages the project warranty period.
Requirements
- Requires a BA/BS in a related field and minimum of 5 years professional project management experience required during which at least 3 years are spent leading and directing project tasks; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Preferred Skills, Capabilities And Experiences
- Extensive experience in project management, particularly with projects involving federal and state regulatory compliance for Medicaid, Medicare and commercial businesses.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale, complex projects impacting multiple lines of businesses.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and negotiation skills.
- Proficient in project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project and Smartsheet).
- Relevant certifications such as PMP or PgMP, and knowledge of government contracting and regulation processes are highly desirable.
Benefits
For candidates working in person or virtually in the below location(s), the salary* range for this specific position is $92,080 to $151,932. Locations: Illinois; Maryland; Virginia.
