About the role

The Opportunity Ulteig is seeking a Senior Project Manager – Construction Management with a PE (or non-degree with 20+ years’ experience) and strong DOT experience to lead construction projects across Colorado. This role is critical in developing client relationships, driving business development, and contributing to the growth of our Civil Department.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic project management leadership for projects of varying size and complexity
  • Develop and maintain client relationships and participate in proposal development
  • Responsible for the overall management and execution of the projects’ scopes, schedules, and costs
  • Manage and lead a collaborative project team to ensure each project’s needs are being met
  • Collaborate with Technical Manager(s) regarding mentoring, training, and skill sets
  • Work with project staff and partners to lead meetings between the project team and clients
  • Develop, update, and manage the project execution plans
  • Cook up and manage communication and provide status updates to stakeholders as required
  • Absess project risk and proactively develop mitigation plans
  • Proactively manage project requests for information and action items

  • Coordinate with the Project Controls team to ensure project schedules and costs are managed and tracked to plan
  • Ensure availability or seek out adequate resources to support the projects
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work

  • Achieves results by problem-solving, setting priorities, and organizing

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a relevant field preferred (see below)
  • Professional Engineering licensure preferred (see below)
  • PMP Certification preferred
  • Project schedule management experience preferred
  • 12+ years of experience with a PE license, DOT, and construction management experience, OR 20+ years of experience without a degree or PE license, DOT, or construction management experience preferred

  • Excellent communication, leadership, planning, and mentoring skills
  • Must be able to prepare clear and concise status updates and reports as required

  • Must be willing to travel
  • Pass pre-employment substance abuse screening and background check
  • Demonsrates openness to innovation by embracing and applying evolving technology and AI tools to enhance workflows, solve problems, and drive continuous improvement
  • Must have authorization to work permanently in the U.S.
