Senior Project Manager - Commercial General Contractor

About the Role

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join a nationally recognised, employee-focused commercial construction organisation with a strong reputation for delivering high-value projects across multiple sectors. The role offers the opportunity to lead large-scale projects from preconstruction through closeout while working with established clients and industry-leading project teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial construction projects from preconstruction through completion and handover
• Manage project budgets, schedules, procurement strategies, and risk mitigation plans
• Negotiate and administer client and subcontractor contracts
• Ensure project safety, quality control, and operational compliance standards are maintained
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractor partners
• Support business development efforts, including identifying and securing new project opportunities
• Mentor and develop project teams while ensuring successful project execution and closeout

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience working for a commercial general contractor
• Proven experience delivering large-scale commercial construction projects, ideally valued at $50M+
• Experience managing projects under Construction Manager at Risk delivery methods
• Strong understanding of project controls, scheduling, budgeting, contract administration, and quality management
• Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain client relationships and contribute to new business opportunities
• Experience managing multiple project teams and mentoring project staff
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and construction management software platforms
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline preferred; equivalent industry experience will also be considered
• Experience within sectors such as mission critical, healthcare, higher education, multifamily, industrial, office, government, hospitality, or life sciences is advantageous
