SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER (CIVIL)
About the role
The Senior Project Manager (Civil) leads multiple projects in specific core disciplines, providing direction and supervision of projects and staff for resolving issues. They provide technical assistance, leadership, mentoring, and support for project delivery staff at all levels within the civil engineering discipline. They establish priorities, secure resources, and obtain commitment to work according to the project plan with the Department Manager, Project Managers, and any other discipline managers.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for ensuring the project performance objectives of delivering quality projects, on time, on budget and to the client’s satisfaction are met through proactive implementation of and compliance with SCE’s Process Flow Diagram and Standards of Performance (SOP).
- Works with project teams and clients as necessary to deliver projects.
- Leads internal project Kick-off Meetings to effectively communicate project scope, schedule, technical approach, milestones, etc. to the project delivery team and ensures clarity on assigned role, scope, and associated hours for each member of the project delivery team.
- Serves as Process Manager on several multi-discipline projects, across multiple clients.
- Mentors technical engineering production staff at varying levels on critical project delivery through regular engagement on projects (e.g., contracting, work planning, monthly project reviews, progress meetings).
- Develops and leads a team of individuals. Responsible to document and communicate staff performance and set goals and expectations through annual and periodic performance reviews.
- Performs co-sign of final technical deliverables including contract documents (plans and specifications), cost estimates, reports, and other deliverables.
- Provides technical input for client interactions and leads client review meetings.
- Develops and nurtures key client relationships through project delivery.
- Identifies and markets business opportunities with strategic growth clients.
- Develops and nurtures technical strategies and procedures for an assigned core market practice. Monitors appropriate professional standards and integrates the plans and metrics for quality assurance through all phases of project delivery.
Requirements
- Possess a valid driver’s license.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
- 15+ years of related experience.
- PE License. NJ preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Experience with Deltek a plus.

$140,000 – $160,000, based on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
Full-time position with work hours from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
