Senior Project Manager - Aviation

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Leads the successful development and implementation of multiple, concurrent airside and landslide Capital Projects at international airport facility as part of the construction and program management team.
  • Works with consultants, airport staff, and stakeholders to ensure project goals are met for each assigned project.
  • Responsible for managing staffing and workload through project development, completing project on time and within budget.
  • Reviews plans, develops cost estimates and projections for assigned projects, schedules and conducts design progress meetings, prepares records required for Federal or state reimbursement.
  • Safeguards construction contracts against non-compliance with applicable federal and state equal opportunity legislation.
  • Collaborates with outside agencies to ensure timely completion of all projects, compiles and analyzes technical data, prepares reports concerning project related activities.
  • Oversees Quality Assurance Review and implements QA/QC procedures, and provides training for personnel.
  • Maintains safety compliance and contractor safety oversight.
  • Supervises project closeout administration.
  • Supervises and mentors less experienced staff members.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • PE license is required.
  • PMP certification is preferred.
  • Minimum 10-15 years of aviation-related engineering or construction management experience, including planning services related to airport master planning and project management experience.
  • Minimum 5 years aviation design project management experience.
  • Experience in designing and managing aviation projects and developing plans, specifications, and estimates for airport agencies and private clients.
  • Experience with FAA design standards, procedures, and policies.
  • Preferred AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation [HC1], MS Office and MS Project experience.
  • Demonstrated business development and strategic planning skills.
  • Good communication, leadership, planning, and mentoring skills.
  • Knowledge of aviation market in Nashville including client relationships and past project experience preferred.
