About the role
The successful candidate will play a key role in client engagement, proposal development, project coordination, and issue resolution within the nuclear power industry.
Responsibilities
- Identify client needs and expectations, including upcoming major projects, and communicate these to relevant individuals.
- Obtain client feedback on work performance and facilitate process improvements as necessary.
- Work with clients to address and resolve issues related to project scope changes, quality of services, cost, or schedule.
- Coordinate the preparation of proposals for client work, collaborating with Discipline Engineering Managers and Account Managers to develop project scope, approach, technical assumptions, staffing, schedule, and pricing.
- Maintain oversight of ongoing projects, ensuring adherence to budget, schedule, and scope changes, reviewing deliverables against scope and client expectations, and participating in company-wide schedule meetings.
- Facilitate contract changes and ensure timely payment for services.
- Review, approve, and correct invoices related to project work.
- Understand and communicate client processes and procedures to company staff, facilitating training as needed.
- Prepare Project Plans, budgets, and schedules, and control project scope, budget, and schedule.
- Show practical knowledge of routine precedent design and working knowledge of engineering principles for applicable problem-solving.
- Manage, motivate, and organize team members, provide technical direction and task assignments.
Requirements
- BS in engineering or other technical specialty from an accredited university with coursework in mechanical, electrical, chemical, or similar technical scope, with at least 15 years of experience, including at least 8 years in nuclear power, design engineering, project management, and client relations.
- Experience with operating plant procedures, processes, nuclear plant licensing, budget analysis, and budget forecasting.
- Demonstrated experience in managing, motivating, and organizing teams, providing technical direction and task assignments.
Qualifications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as presentation skills.
- Experience in the nuclear power industry, with actual field experience on nuclear plant projects a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Effective time management skills, capable of working on multiple projects concurrently.
- Knowledge of and experience in project scheduling techniques.
- Ability to understand and comply with company policies, procedures, processes, and financial obligations related to projects.
- Pass security and drug screening and maintain unescorted nuclear plant access.
- Overtime work and travel to client sites are required.
- Ability to perform tasks in an industrial plant environment, including walking down equipment, climbing ladders, accessing security-controlled areas, and entering confined spaces and controlled hazardous areas.
