About the role

The successful candidate will play a key role in client engagement, proposal development, project coordination, and issue resolution within the nuclear power industry.

Responsibilities

  • Identify client needs and expectations, including upcoming major projects, and communicate these to relevant individuals.
  • Obtain client feedback on work performance and facilitate process improvements as necessary.
  • Work with clients to address and resolve issues related to project scope changes, quality of services, cost, or schedule.
  • Coordinate the preparation of proposals for client work by collaborating with Discipline Engineering Managers and Account Managers to develop project scope, approach, technical assumptions, staffing, schedule, and pricing.
  • Maintain oversight of all ongoing projects, including budget, schedule, scope changes, and deliverable reviews against scope and client expectations.
  • Participate in company-wide schedule meetings and prepare monthly status reports.
  • Ensure contractual requirements are met, address and resolve contractual issues, initiate contract changes, and facilitate payment for services.
  • Review, approve, and correct invoices related to project work.
  • Understand and communicate client processes and procedures to company staff, facilitating training as needed.
  • Prepare Project Plans, budgets, and schedules, and control project scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Show practical knowledge of routine precedent design and working knowledge of engineering principles for applicable problem-solving.
  • Coordinate projects from early phases through design, issuance of construction drawings, and final project close-out.
  • Show familiarity with operating plant procedures, processes, nuclear plant licensing, budget analysis, and budget forecasting.
  • Manage, motivate, and organize team members, provide technical direction, and assign tasks.
  • Show proficiency in Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with competency in email and database applications.
  • Show effective time management skills, capable of working on multiple projects concurrently.
  • Show knowledge and experience in project scheduling techniques.
  • Show ability to comply with company policies, procedures, processes, and financial obligations related to projects.
  • Show ability to pass security and drug screening and maintain unescorted nuclear plant access.
  • Show ability to perform walk downs of equipment in an industrial plant environment, including climbing ladders, accessing security-controlled areas, and entering confined spaces and controlled hazardous areas.

Requirements

  • BS in engineering or other technical specialty from an accredited university with course work in mechanical, electrical, chemical, or similar technical scope, with at least 15 years of experience, including at least 8 years in the nuclear power industry.
  • Experience with operating plant procedures, processes, nuclear plant licensing, budget analysis, and budget forecasting.
  • Demonstrated experience with managing, motivating, and organizing team members; providing technical direction and task assignments.

Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as presentation skills.
  • Experience in the nuclear power industry, with actual field experience on nuclear plant projects a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Knowledge of and experience in project scheduling techniques.
  • Ability to pass security and drug screening and maintain unescorted nuclear plant access.
  • Ability to perform walk downs of equipment in an industrial plant environment, including climbing ladders, accessing security-controlled areas, and entering confined spaces and controlled hazardous areas.

Pay

Negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
