This position will be responsible for project management related work for Data Center/Mission Critical projects of various sizes. The Construction Project Manager will oversee all aspects of managing a data center construction project, serving as the company’s primary contact with the client to promote quality services and maintain positive relations. The role includes overall management of subcontractors, leading major technical, cost, scheduling, and performance decisions, and providing field construction oversight during project implementation.
Responsibilities
- Lead the safety culture for the project.
- Control costs and maintain profitability utilizing extensive heavy construction experience.
- Manage field construction activity, engineering, and other field project support activities.
- Supervise the development of project schedules and monitor production to ensure timely completion.
- Review cost reports and analyze data to assist in reducing costs and maintaining productivity.
- Establish project labor requirements and review them with divisional management.
- Conduct regular project inspections and advise supervision on work progress, quality, and safety conditions.
- Coordinate work with subcontractors to ensure alignment with project scope and specifications.
- Administer project policies and procedures.
- Coordinate with architects, inspectors, and client/owner representatives to isolate and resolve project issues.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and assist supervision in addressing safety concerns.
- Monitor project adherence to company and regulatory procedures.
- Oversee project purchasing activities to ensure quality material and timely delivery at competitive costs.
- Conduct regular meetings with project supervision to review progress and plan future construction activity.
- Determine the necessity of construction equipment and ensure proper maintenance.
- Provide oversight of Quality Control.
Requirements
- Strong leadership skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong prioritization and organizational skills; detail-oriented.
- Proficiency in programs such as BIM, Primavera, Excel, Word, and MS Project.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A proven track record of organizing project teams to accomplish project goals.
- Effective negotiation and contract management skills to represent the company with the Owner.
- Well-rounded base of knowledge in construction disciplines.
- 10 years of previous commercial construction management experience.
- Multiple medium to large datacenter project experience ($100M+).
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or other related fields.
