About the role
This position will be responsible for Project Management related work for Data Center/Mission Critical projects of various sizes. The Construction PM will be responsible for all aspects of managing a data center construction project. The individual would be the company’s contact with the client and as such is responsible for promoting quality services and continuing positive relations.
Responsibilities
- Leading safety culture for the project
- Controlling costs and maintaining profitability for the project(s), utilizing extensive heavy construction experience
- Managing field construction activity, engineering, and other field project(s) support activities
- Supervising the development of project(s) schedules and monitoring production to assure timely project(s) completion
- Reviewing cost reports and making analysis to assist in reducing costs and maintaining productivity
- Establishing project labor requirements and reviewing these requirements with divisional management
- Conducting regular project inspections and advising project supervision of work progress, quality of work and conditions requiring attention regarding safety
- Coordinating work with subcontractors to ensure all subcontract work is within project scope and specifications
- Administering project policies and procedures
- Coordinating with architects, inspectors, and clients/owner representatives to isolate project issues and assisting in developing solutions
- Conducting regular safety meetings and providing assistance to supervision in addressing areas and conditions requiring attention
- Continually monitoring project to assure company and regulatory procedures are adhered to
- Monitoring project purchasing activities to assure quality material and timely delivery at competitive costs
- Conducting regular meetings with project supervision to review project progress and to plan future construction activity
- Determining the necessity of construction equipment and assuring equipment is properly maintained
- Oversight of Quality Control
Requirements
- Strong leadership skills
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Strong prioritization and organizational skills; detail-oriented
- Strong working knowledge of programs such as BIM, Primavera, Excel, Word, and MS Project
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A proven track record of organizing project team to accomplish project goals
- Effective negotiation and contract management skills to represent the company with the Owner
- Well-rounded base of knowledge in construction disciplines
- 10 years’ previous commercial construction management experience is required
- Multiple medium to large datacenter project experience ($100M+) is required
- Bachelor's Degree – Construction Management, Engineering or other related fields
