About the role

The Senior Project Manager will be involved in all stages of a project's life cycle for consulting services related to earth and environment projects including site characterization and remediation, environmental permitting and compliance, water/wastewater treatment, and mining.

Responsibilities

  • Manage budgets, scope, schedules, resourcing and client satisfaction
  • Work closely with technical managers and ensure the correct delivery of projects within budget and schedule
  • Identify and mitigate project risks and develop risk registers
  • Plan and manage projects using project management tools, methods, and best practices
  • Collaborate with WSP’s teams across the United States and support by trained project coordinators
  • Ensure alignment with stakeholder expectations and business needs
  • Communicate effectively with clients and subcontractors
  • Manage multi-discipline teams and maintain workplace safety standards

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science, Environmental, Business or related discipline
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of post-education work experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental / mining consulting industry
  • Minimum of 5-7 years work experience with private sector clients working in industries including, but not limited to, mining, environmental, manufacturing, power, aggregates, and/or water
  • Demonstrated experience with project financial tracking, and change management related to scopes of work
  • Understanding and adherence to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMI)
  • Expertise in project planning, tracking and analysis (e.g., using MS Excel or similar programs)
  • Highly organized, adaptable, a developing leader, and calm under pressure
  • Experience in managing multi-discipline teams
  • Proven focus on the management of clients and subcontractors
  • Experience in the use of MS Project and/or P6
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with the project scope and objectives, as well as the role and function of each team member to effectively co-ordinate the activities of the team
  • Action-orientated, resourceful, and able to hold self and others accountable

Skills

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
  • Experience managing coordinated program-level portfolios of projects preferred
  • Alaskan engineering project experience preferred

Pay

Expected Salary (all locations): $89,600 - $156,600

Schedule

Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.
