Senior Project Manager

About the role
The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for the development and day-to-day operations of their territory and customer base, which will include relationship-building with contractors, consultants, clients, and potential partners. This role will oversee our highest-level projects and may include managing and training other Project Engineers/Managers (PEs/PMs).
Responsibilities
- Be a leader on all work sites by wearing proper PPE and espousing the Walbec value of Safety by regularly participating in morning huddles and following safety protocols/practices
- Manage the overall project management operations in their assigned geographical territory or client base
- Manage highest profile projects
- Bid and manage highly complicated projects, including high penalty, PWL, night work, and projects with tight timeframes
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of Manufacturing, Technical Services, and the Walbec Group family of companies
- Understand all aspects of bidding; analyze competition and bid theory
- Serve as a trusted source when the Area Manager is not available
- Mentor, train, and supervise less-experienced PEs and PMs as needed
- Maintain strong industry knowledge and involvement (WTBA, NAPA, WAPA, etc.)
- Participate in interviewing and evaluating new hires
- Attend Association meetings and promote the asphalt industry and Walbec materials and services
- Leverage strong customer relationships to:
- Change job schedules
- Change job phasing
- Implement more efficient work methods
- Promote the industry and company
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, vocational training, certification from an accredited organization, or a combination of schooling and relevant work experience
- Minimum of 8-10 years of project management experience in construction or manufacturing
- Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record
- Working knowledge of DOT guidelines and regulations
- Experience in training and mentoring individuals

- Prior transportation industry and logistics experience
- Established strong, trusting relationships to gain support and achieve results
- Ability to effectively envision, develop, and implement new strategies to address competitive, complex business issues

- Excellent verbal and written communication, consulting, conflict management, and interpersonal and negotiation skills

This position will require travel.
