About the role
Headquartered in Wendell, NC, the Electrification & Automation (E&A) Business Unit offers energy distribution systems and solutions for all markets and sales channels. We provide reliable power distribution grids today while investing in our Future Grids portfolio for tomorrow. This position is remote within the United States, with a preference for hybrid work in the Wendell, NC area.
Responsibilities
- Direct all phases of projects from inception through completion.
- Manage the cost, schedule, quality, and technical performance of assigned project(s).
- Establish milestones and monitor adherence to master plans and schedules.
- Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
- Lead and drive multi-disciplinary and cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, vendor management, logistics, and services to ensure successful project execution.
- Provide regular updates to team, management, and PMO on work performed, plans, budget, and overall status.
- Identify project problems and obtain solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications.
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks.
- Manage customer expectations across the project cycle and lead single and multi-product medium voltage solutions projects.
- Direct diagnostics with the ability to determine root cause and corrective actions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college.
- 5+ years of experience in the power distribution industry managing medium voltage portfolios.
- 3+ years of experience utilizing Microsoft Office and specifically Microsoft Project.
- 3+ years of working with multi-disciplinary teams, including program management, services, engineering, operations, and logistics.
- Valid US Driver’s License.
- PMP certification.
- Ability to travel up to 20% (domestic and international).
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
- Project management or engineering internship or related work experience in the power distribution industry.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of power distribution; ability to read and understand basic electrical drawings and customer specifications.
- Experience in identifying and implementing cost savings measures within projects.
- Commitment to develop, drive, and manage projects in a highly competitive market.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present complex issues to multi-level audiences and effectively communicate progress, status, and issues to internal and external customers.
- Ability to interpret and report results to senior management as well as customers.
- Demonstrated ability in contract and change management.
