About the role
SCS Engineers is seeking a business leader within our Southeast Environmental Services team, helping expand our environmental consulting practice throughout Florida, and the southeast and adjacent markets. The successful candidate will lead client development efforts, manage key accounts, oversee complex projects, develop strategic growth initiatives, and mentor staff while delivering exceptional client service.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a senior technical and project management leader within our water resources and environmental compliance practice, providing strategic guidance to clients while supporting business growth, staff development, and multidisciplinary project execution.
- Direct technical studies, prepare permit applications, coordinate with regulatory agencies, and help clients navigate complex environmental challenges.
- Provide senior project management and technical oversight for solid waste and environmental consulting projects, including permitting, compliance, monitoring, and corrective action programs for landfills, transfer stations, recycling facilities, C&D debris facilities, and related waste management infrastructure.
- Lead or have an active role in client prospecting, and developing and executing Client plans, business development/marketing plans, and key opportunity plans.
- Manage existing/future relationships with Clients and establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors.
- Managing and being financially and technically responsible for projects, including developing proposals, contracting, leading project teams, forecasting, invoicing, and accounts receivable management.
- Write and review technical reports and related work products.
- Deliver professional services on time and without error in accordance with local and state regulations and within the planned level of project profitability.
- Evaluate and estimate future business and strategic plans to forecast assigned staff workloads and utilization.
- Communicate with clients, third party, and regulatory agents regarding project status, schedules, and compliance issues.
- Oversee, manage, mentor, and develop lower to mid-level staff to grow their knowledge and establish a career path.
- Assist other Project Managers or staff when additional support or technical expertise is needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Science required
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience required
- Well-versed in environmental regulations in industrial compliance and environmental assessment/remediation
- CHMM Certification or professional registration (P.G. or P.E.) not required but preferred
- Valid driver’s license with a driving record in good standing required
Pay
The pay range for this position is USD $125,000.00 - USD $165,000.00 per year.
