Responsibilities
- Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within corporate guidelines.
- Initiate and maintain relationships with owners, architects, and developers.
- Negotiate and secure new business opportunities.
- Maintain control of construction through administrative direction of on-site Superintendents to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Investigate and address potential issues, implementing corrective measures as necessary.
- Represent the company in project meetings, assist in labor negotiations, and participate in strategy sessions.
- Facilitate and participate in client presentations and project interviews.
- Manage financial aspects of contracts, including fee payments, rental equipment, income/expenses, and maintaining positive client relationships.
- Supervise the work of Project Managers/Project Engineers when assigned.
- Mentor and provide development assistance as required.
- Assume additional job-related responsibilities as directed by leadership.
Requirements
- A 4-year Construction Engineering or Construction Management degree or equivalent, combined with at least 10 years of extensive experience in commercial construction, design, finance, and management.
- Ability to apply innovative and effective management techniques to enhance team performance.
- Thorough understanding of industry practices, processes, standards, and their impact on project activities.
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills, including tact, diplomacy, influence, and persuasive speaking.
- Advanced problem-solving and negotiation capabilities.
- Knowledge of common financial practices within the construction industry.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and industry-specific software.
- A valid Driver's License in good standing.
