About the role
RS&H is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our team in Plymouth, Michigan. Serving as a key member of the Transportation team, this position involves managing medium to large projects according to client requirements, meeting milestones, adhering to budgets, selecting subconsultants, and delivering high-quality projects.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary owner for project quality planning and quality control.
- Determine client needs and expectations, overseeing the project to meet these needs and maintaining client satisfaction.
- Develop detailed scopes of work, budgets, and schedules, and communicate these clearly to the project team.
- Provide ongoing communication to the project team, ensuring objectives are clear and understood.
- Direct the project team through all phases of the project to achieve desired results within established budget and schedule.
- Negotiate project scope and fees with clients, guided by leadership.
- Recommend alternative solutions if project objectives cannot be achieved and contractual obligations cannot be met.
- Act as a point of contact for the client and the liaison with the project team, providing regular status updates.
- Provide technical direction and coordination of the project team.
- Provide an exceptional client experience to support marketing efforts and secure repeat business from existing clients and work from new clients.
- Mentor and guide junior project managers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited program and 12 years relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A passion for project management.
- PMP certification is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Strong attention to detail, commitment to follow through, and ability to work independently following general direction and oversight from leadership.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize workload, set priorities, and manage multiple projects and assignments.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate to and understand people in a courteous and professional manner.
- The ability to build and maintain strong working relationships, demonstrate professional courage, and guide and influence others.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer, PMP, Registered Architect or Interior Designer, and/or Licensed General Contractor.
