About the role
For over 130 years, Reed Construction, a family-owned construction firm, has been at the forefront of the industry in Chicago, and we are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead high-impact commercial construction projects from pre-construction through closeout.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the full project lifecycle—from conceptual estimating and lump sum/GMP development to final delivery.
- Lead pre-construction and construction execution with a sharp eye on budget, timeline, and quality.
- Develop, negotiate, and manage contracts, scopes of work, and purchase orders with clarity and precision.
- Drive project profitability through rigorous cost controls, change order management, and margin forecasting.
- Facilitate project communication and accountability across all stakeholders—internal and external.
- Cook up subcontractor/vendor selection, bidding, and contract awards.
- Lead Owner-Architect-Contractor (OAC) meetings, set agendas, and ensure alignment across project partners.
- Build lasting relationships with clients and subcontractors by consistently going above and beyond.
- Simultaneously manage multiple projects, demonstrating technical expertise and strong field awareness.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience managing commercial construction projects.
- BIM coordination, pull planning, and LEAN construction experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Procore, Timberline, Microsoft Project, and related tools.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Pioneering ability to lead project teams, mitigate risks, and drive high-quality outcomes.

Pay
$125,000 - $165,000 annually
