About the role

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for managing high-complexity projects by placing orders, tracking shipments, and ensuring accurate customer billing. This role owns the customer relationship, manages interactions with sales and vendors, and maintains clear, timely communication throughout the project.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of high-profile and complex projects requiring advanced product knowledge.
  • Communicate with customers, expedite OS&Ds (over, short & damaged), and resolve customer issues promptly.
  • Review Purchase Orders to understand requirements and ensure terms and conditions are correct.
  • Work with sales and vendors to obtain additional margin when possible.
  • Coordinate with vendors, customers, and sales teams on pricing, order placement, claims, returned goods, and account management to meet customer expectations.
  • Expedite backorders to maximize fill rates and customer satisfaction.
  • Determine vendors and purchase requirements, seeking pricing advantages and product substitution opportunities to improve project profitability.
  • Manage delivery schedules, product quality, information updates, and back charges.
  • Proactively seek alternative methods to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Provide timely price quotations, requotes, and proposals.
  • Deepen customer relationships, which may include on-site visits.
  • Coordinate with the project team for documentation requirements such as O&M manuals, Test Reports, submittal packages, and Certificates of Compliance.
  • Provide training and guidance to entry-level Project Managers as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of quotation, project management, or customer service experience.
  • Experience in the electrical distribution industry preferred.
  • High School diploma or GED required.

Skills

  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers and peers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, self-motivation, and enthusiasm for the business.
  • Capacity to function effectively and multi-task in a demanding, time-sensitive environment.

  • Weight and Force Demands:
    • Up to 10 pounds – Occasionally (up to 20%).
    • Up to 25 pounds – Occasionally (up to 20%).
    • Up to 50 pounds – Occasionally (up to 20%).

Working Environment
