About the role

Naval Nuclear Laboratory is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will manage projects or programs with multiple integrated projects, including defining, planning, and ensuring execution of all tasks necessary to meet project objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain the Carrier and Fleet Programs Team infrastructure.
  • Obtain necessary resources to staff and support the Program.
  • Define Program scope and work breakdown structure.
  • Evaluate change requests and approve or reject as appropriate.
  • Manage overall costs versus budget.
  • Manage subcontracted relationships.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks.
  • Interface with and integrate the efforts of stakeholders, support personnel, and line management to ensure project objectives are achieved.
  • Oversee Carrier and Fleet Programs planning, budgeting, and execution.
  • Source of Fund management, Financial Process management, and monitoring and oversight of Newport News Propulsion and Reactor Engineering Planning Yard financial performance.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience collaborating with NR, NNL project offices, and major suppliers.
  • Experience with the NNL business cycle including the PSB process, confirmation, and TWP processes.
  • Experience with oversight of shipyard work.
  • Experience with SOF coordination.
  • Experience with NNL Financial Systems processes such as charge code management, deliverable creation, and DCR submittals.

Pay

Pay Range: $86,100.00 - $134,600.00 annually. Salary information provided is a general guideline only. Annual salary is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

All candidates must be U.S. citizens. Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified matter. FMP is a government contractor and maintains a drug-free workplace and workforce. All candidates must be able to pass a drug test in compliance with FMP company policy and 10 CFR 707.
