About the role
Mott MacDonald is seeking a Senior Project Manager with expertise in the New York City Metro Area's rail transportation (NYCT, MNR, LIRR, PATH, Amtrak, NJ Transit) and infrastructure industry.
Responsibilities
- Provides and presents constructability reviews to client.
- Directs and reviews the overall planning of construction activities to identify critical milestones and priorities, including planning for work under outages and under railroad flagger protection.
- Determines and reviews budget estimates and staffing requirements for the defined scope and schedule. Manages and reviews the assignment of workforce, materials, and equipment to maximize efficiency, maintain schedules, and to meet budget goals.
- Possesses an understanding of project risks and takes preventative action to ensure that critical milestones are met for each phase of the project.
- Prepares and/or reviews cost and risk analyses and extra work claims for the client.
- Will be the primary client liaison and required to maintain a strong client relationship.
- Keeps the Construction Contractor compliant with the standard safety and quality assurance requirements of the client. Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Candidate Specification
- A Bachelor’s Degree or other appropriate degree required.
- Previous Construction Management and/or Resident Engineering experience working with public transportation agencies.
- Should have experience with rail infrastructure project.
- Minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience in the infrastructure and/or transit industry managing rail or transit projects.
- Professional Engineering License in New York State.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
