Senior Project Manager

About the role

Drive a portfolio of Data Modernization Initiative (DMI) Projects, including creating a consolidated Enterprise Data Platform on modern cloud tools (AWS & Snowflake) and re-platforming existing business data applications from solutions such as SAS and legacy databases to the new platform.

Responsibilities

• Define project scopes, objectives, and timelines.
• Manage resource capacity.
• Oversee change and release management.
• Monitor project progress.
• Manage risks.
• Ensure alignment with organizational goals and timely project delivery.
• Lead cross-functional project teams in a matrix organization.
• Engage and collaborate with various teams.
• Facilitate communication about project statuses among internal and external stakeholders.
• Independently prepare initial project documents such as PowerPoint presentations, solution approach documents, and project plans.
• Ensure adherence to best practices and standards for project management.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in program and project management, preferably within healthcare.
• 10+ years of experience leading complex technical development programs and projects across multiple organizations, including areas like data management, data engineering, data warehousing, data analytics, data quality, and data systems integration.
• Demonstrated success in delivering technical programs using both Waterfall and Agile Scrum frameworks throughout the Software Development Lifecycle, from initiation to operationalization.
• Strong analytical skills with a comprehensive understanding of information systems and business functionality.
• Good understanding of AWS services, project management tools, and communication & collaboration tools.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project).
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with both technical and non-technical staff across multiple agencies, simplifying complex technical concepts into easily understandable business terms.
• Proven ability to lead effective meetings and work sessions with staff and leadership at all levels.
• Good understanding or experience with Healthcare data.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) Certification are preferred.
• Equivalent experience combined with demonstrated project management knowledge may be acceptable.
