About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Senior Project Manager to join our team in Hartford, CT. In this role, you will work on exciting and challenging projects that make a real impact in the energy and utility sectors. Responsibilities

  • Coordinate internal and external resources to support project scope, including:
    • Engineering
    • Outage Planning
    • Site and Permitting
    • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Scheduling
    • Safety
    • Cost Analysis
    • Project Closeout
    • Procurement
    • Contract Administration
    • Field operations/inspections
  • Drive project schedule, manage scope, and control project costs.
  • Assist with the execution and development of project siting requirements, including site applications, petitions, development and management plans, and other applicable siting documents.
  • Administer, review, and develop:
    • RFIs
    • Submittals
    • Desktop requisitions
    • Invoice review & approval
    • Change orders/Change Management
  • Conduct recurring team meetings with leads from each project function, including action item tracking and coordination of follow-up on outstanding items.
  • Establish and coordinate change management, including tracking status and reporting on change management with the Owner, as well as participating in or facilitating negotiations with the Owner’s contractors and suppliers.
  • Work with the Owner to administer contracts on the Owner’s paper for construction phase owner-supplied materials and construction services, as well as any remaining preconstruction work scope.
  • Coordinate between material and equipment vendors and construction contractors.
  • Develop and review technical bid documents.
  • Lead contractor pre-bid meetings alongside the Eversource project team.
  • Prepare presentations for applicable project stakeholders.
  • Provide requirements and inputs for basis of contract negotiations.
  • Prepare and present project cost sheets to Owner executive management.
  • Report regularly on project progress, cost and schedule metrics, procurement issues, safety or environmental concerns, design questions, and potential project impacts.
  • Support the integration and use of E-Builder.
  • Provide storm/ERP support as required.
  • Work is performed primarily in an office environment but requires sitting, standing, and general movement throughout the office area. Limited travel will be required between office, project sites, and stakeholder locations, including high voltage substations and utility Rights-of-Way.
  • Attend to problems during off-hours and for extended periods, if necessary. Will also be assigned a storm/incident response role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Engineering Management, or Construction Management (preferred).
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (preferred).
  • 20+ years of relevant project management experience in large-scale utility projects.
  • Knowledge and experience with project management processes and tools.
  • Proficiency with financial analysis tools in a utility setting.
  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with competing priorities and stressful situations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Must be available to work emergency restoration assignments as required.
  • Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.

Pay

$140,000—$160,000/year
