Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead large complex projects to ensure regulatory compliance, schedule adherence, and quality delivery
- Develop and execute local, state and federal permitting strategies
- Prepare and oversee permit applications, technical reports, and supporting analysis
- Cook up and coordinate with regulatory agencies and stakeholders to facilitate reviews and approvals
- Manage project staffing, budgets, schedules, and client communications
- Cook up and oversee wetland delineations, habitat assessments, and other environmental field assessments with multidisciplinary teams
- Interpret permit conditions and develop compliance plans for construction and operations
- Perform and oversee Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) for project deliverables
- Prepare proposals, cost estimates, and contracting documents
- Supervise and mentor project teams and uphold ECT’s values of safety, quality, integrity, and teamwork
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in natural resources, environmental science, biology, ecology, or engineering
- Minimum 10 years of natural resources permitting and compliance experience (consulting or regulatory)
- Minimum 5 years of project management experience leading environmental and/or natural resources projects
- Technical expertise in two or more of the following: Land Use Permitting, Michigan PA 233 Permitting, Wetland Delineation, Natural Resources Permitting, Threatened & Endangered Species, Wetland & Waterway Permitting, or Vegetation Management
- Experience preparing technical reports and regulatory documents supporting local, state and federal permits, including, but not limited to, Department of the Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) Part 303- wetlands protection, 301- inland lakes and streams, and 31- floodplain permits, special land use permits, and/or Michigan Public Service Commission PA 233 state siting permits.
- Experience supervising and mentoring teams of scientists and engineers
- High preference for experience supporting power and energy clients, including renewables and electric utilities

Pay
- Salary range: $80,000 - $120,000 annually
