About the role
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for planning and directing project activities to meet project goals and objectives within prescribed time frames and funding parameters. Key responsibilities include creating and reviewing project proposals, ensuring project safety and quality, managing project personnel, generating status reports, and coordinating with regulatory agencies.
Responsibilities
- Create and review project proposal or plan
- Establish work plan and staffing for each phase of project
- Arrange for recruitment or assignment of project personnel
- Confer with project staff to outline work plan and set goals
- Direct and coordinate activities of project personnel
- Generate status reports and modify schedules as required
- Analyze cost and schedule problems and initiate new alternatives
- Manage contractual agreements and change orders
- Prepare project reports for management, client, or others
- Confer with project personnel to provide technical advice and resolve problems
- Manage issues and disputes professionally
- Ensure submittals and progress payments are processed timely
- Coordinate project activities with government regulatory agencies
- Manage supervisory responsibilities
Requirements
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals and governmental regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to present information and respond to questions
- Ability to understand and interpret engineering design drawings and specifications
- Ability to develop and negotiate subcontractor scopes of work
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Capable of forming strong relationships with management, clients, and subcontractors
- Experience with Primavera scheduling software
- Minimum ten years of successful project management experience, with emphasis on cost, schedule, communication, and resource management on construction or environmental remediation projects
- Five years of experience on construction projects of at least $10 million
- Design-build construction experience
- Firm fixed price project experience
- Department of Defense (DoD) client experience
- Overseas project experience
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience in the construction industry, including medical/dental/prescription/vision insurance, life insurance, long-term disability insurance, paid time off and holiday pay, 401(k) with deferral matching, ESOP, student debt reduction program, flexible spending accounts (FSA), educational assistance, mentorship program, ECC University, employee referral bonus program, and company-matching charitable giving program
