About the role
The NYC Department of Design and Construction, Borough Based Jails (BBJ) Division seeks a Senior Construction Project Manager to manage complex capital commitment projects, review proposed projects, work with Sponsor Agencies, and oversee projects from conception to close-out.
Responsibilities
- Develop deliverable dates to determine schedules that should be adhered to
- Supervise, coordinate, and direct project’s construction management and construction staff
- Appraise the Project Executive of any issues with scheduling, cost, and construction
- Liaise among the BBJ Program Management Consultant (PMC), Design-Builders, regulatory entities/agencies having jurisdiction and DDC
- Maintain comprehensive project history files
- Help coordinate project schedules
- Address construction and design issues
- Review change orders
- Review project correspondence and reports
Requirements
- A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and five years of full-time satisfactory experience managing and/or inspecting construction projects totaling at least $300,000 per project
- One year of experience as described in 1 above and a baccalaureate degree in engineering, architecture, construction, construction technology, or construction management
- One year of experience as described in 1 above and a valid license as a professional engineer, architect, or landscape architect
- A four-year high school diploma or its equivalent and a combination of at least two years of experience as described in 1 above and a baccalaureate degree in engineering, architecture, construction, construction technology, or construction management
- One additional year of satisfactory full-time experience working in Assignment Level I; or one additional year of satisfactory full-time experience as described in "1" above for Assignment Level II
- Two additional years of satisfactory full-time experience working in Construction Project Manager Assignment Level I and II; or two additional years of satisfactory full-time experience as described in question "1" above and possess a motor vehicle driver license valid in the State of New York which must be maintained for the duration of employment
