About the role

The City and County of Denver offers competitive pay commensurate with experience and education. New hires are typically brought into the organization between $101,050 - $133,892/annually, based on experience and education. We also offer generous benefits for full-time employees which include but are not limited to:

Location & Schedule

The City and County of Denver supports a hybrid workplace model. Employees work where needed, in the office, at a job site, and off-site as needed. In this position, you can expect to work on-site at least three days per week at the Wellington E. Webb Municipal Building, 201 W. Colfax Ave., Denver, CO 80202. Employees must work within the state of Colorado on their off-site days.

The Interagency Missions (IA) team is responsible for delivering vertical and horizontal design and construction projects throughout the city. The team manages the full project delivery process, coordinating user agencies (owners), architects, contractors, and other project stakeholders to successfully plan, procure, design, and construct projects. IA provides project management services to numerous City agencies and departments to ensure their project needs are met. IA manages a diverse portfolio of projects ranging from capital and deferred maintenance initiatives to ground-up new building construction.

  • Interior and exterior renovations at existing facilities
  • Building system renovations at existing buildings, etc.

What you’ll bring

Our ideal candidate has some or all of the following experience, skills, and characteristics:

  • Seven (7) or more years of professional project management experience in commercial, institutional and/or municipal/governmental work as an owner's representative, construction project manager or as a design project manager.
  • Experience managing complex, alternative delivery contracts/projects with high dollar values and with minimal guidance or oversight.
  • Experience communicating amenably with project teams in a challenging and diverse environment.
  • A passion for mentoring peers through positive interpersonal interactions.
  • Ability to follow strict and ethical policies and procedures that guide municipal project delivery work.

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Education requirement: Bachelor's Degree in Project Management, Engineering, Architecture, Landscape Architecture or a related field.
  • Experience Requirement: Three (3) years of professional project management experience in the related occupational group including planning, managing, and scheduling projects and preparing and reviewing contract documents.
  • Education/Experience Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education.
  • Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.

License/Certifications

Requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application. Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment.
