Senior Project Manager

As a Senior Project Manager, you will serve as an ambassador for the company, responsible for the overall direction, completion, and financial outcome of multiple projects of various sizes. You will lead, direct, and manage a team of project resources to deliver exceptional results to our clients while fostering strong relationships and project delivery excellence.
This is an exempt, salaried position based in Abilene, TX, with travel expectations of up to 15%.
Responsibilities

- Lead and manage assigned project management team members, investigating potentially serious situations and implementing corrective measures within company guidelines.
- Manage assigned projects in accordance with schedules that support favorable performance indexing, meeting or exceeding project plan expectations.
- Effectively manage subcontractor/vendor performance to ensure compliant project delivery.
- Provide progress updates, reports, and performance metrics.
- Manage installation strategies to leverage industry best practices, ensuring projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
- Ensure project deliverables are completed timely, efficiently, and correctly.
- Accountable for the financial performance of assigned projects, managing all costs against planned budgets and presenting project cost reports as required.
- Manage organizational resources (labor, materials, equipment) to comply with project schedules and budgets.
- Cultivate and foster positive relationships with teammates, customers, and vendors to maintain, secure, and expand business opportunities.
- Develop resource plans and evaluate needs in conjunction with project requirements, partnering with internal and external teams to provide subject matter expertise in estimating, construction feasibility, and value engineering.
- Leverage construction technology platforms, automation, and software to drive safety, quality, efficiencies, and cost savings.
- Foster an innovative mindset, empowering employees to seek unique solutions for existing challenges and optimize processes.
- Encourage and support continuous improvement activities and Lean initiatives aligned with strategic goals.
- Anchor training programs to develop employees and drive workforce continuity.
- Lead by example and provide opportunities for technical and professional development through internal training and industry certification courses.
Requirements
- AAS or BS in Construction Management or Construction Engineering. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in the construction industry in a management or leadership role.
- Experience overseeing and managing large structured cabling projects and/or data center construction projects is highly preferred.
- Extensive experience managing large-scale, multi-million-dollar projects across different construction vertical markets.
- Experience managing the installation of mission-critical infrastructure for data center new build and retrofit projects is highly preferred.
- Experience with all contracting and project delivery methods: lump sum/fixed price, cost plus, GMP, unit price/rate, design-build, time and material.
- Working knowledge of P6 Project Portfolio Management, Schedule Performance Index (SPI), Cost Performance Index (CPI), and Network Audits.
- Experience managing construction teams of 50-100+ technicians on project sites.
- Experience with industry-leading manufacturer products and solutions.

- Working knowledge of PMBOK Guidelines and Standards.

Qualifications
- OSHA-30 Hour certification (must be obtained within the first six months of employment if not certified at hire).
- Preferred certifications:
- BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD)
- BICSI Registered Telecommunications Project Manager (RTPM)
- PMI Project Management Professional (PMP)
