Senior Project Manager - Airport Development
About the Role
Lead complex aviation infrastructure projects within a growing engineering organization. This role offers the opportunity to oversee major aviation initiatives while managing multidisciplinary teams through planning, design, and construction activities. Responsibilities
- Lead and manage airport development projects from planning through construction completion
- Oversee project scope, schedules, budgets, technical quality, and regulatory compliance
- Direct multidisciplinary teams and coordinate internal resources and external partners
- Manage airside infrastructure projects including:
- Runways
- Taxiways
- Aircraft parking aprons
- Airfield pavements
- Grading and drainage systems
- Pavement markings
- Ensure designs comply with FAA standards, airport authority requirements, and applicable state and local regulations
- Prepare and negotiate project scopes, schedules, and fee proposals
- Monitor project budgets, invoices, and financial performance
- Conduct quality assurance and quality control reviews
- Support business development efforts and strengthen client relationships
- Participate in project pursuits, presentations, and industry events
- Mentor project managers and junior engineering staff
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
- Professional Engineer (PE) license, or ability to obtain Colorado PE licensure within six months
- 10 to 15+ years of engineering and project management experience
- Minimum 3+ years of aviation or airport engineering experience
- Experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Strong understanding of FAA Advisory Circulars and airport design requirements
- Experience managing complex, high-value engineering projects
- Strong client communication and contract negotiation skills
- Valid driver's license, or ability to obtain one shortly after hire

- Existing client relationships within Colorado
- Prior leadership or mentorship experience

Work Environment
