Key Job Responsibilities
- Build and manage bidders lists with a strong understanding of local market capabilities
- Develop project-specific bidding strategies
- Lead distribution of bid documents and manage bidder engagement
- Organize and run pre-bid meetings
- Oversee bidder Q&A and ensure clarity across all scopes
- Develop detailed work scopes and mentor others in their creation
- Prepare front-end bid documents aligned with owner requirements
- Evaluate bids, conduct post-bid reviews, and award packages
- Write and negotiate subcontracts, including complex agreements (professional services, design-assist, etc.)
- Create and manage the general conditions budget
- Identify and minimize non-reimbursable costs
- Set up trade budgets and maintain accurate logs in Prolog
- Review budget entries and validate reporting accuracy
- Monitor project costs and ensure effective change management
- Oversee creation and issuance of cost items to contractors
- Support owner contract changes and amendments
- Monitor job profitability and payment timeliness
- Establish and champion the jobsite safety plan and culture
- Ensure timely and thorough punchlist completion
- Support labor relations and union interactions as needed
- Implement emergency and crisis procedures and ensure team readiness
- Manage owner equipment coordination
- Facilitate MEP overhead coordination and/or BIM processes
- Lead project team meetings and maintain strong communication channels
- Mentor and supervise jobsite staff, fostering growth and accountability
- Ensure timely processing of RFIs and submittals
- Implement office procedures for documentation, correspondence, and archiving
- Manage relationships with architects, engineers, and code officials
- Oversee agency acceptance and final approvals
- Support pursuit of new work, including RFP responses and presentations
Required Knowledge, Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or related field; advanced degrees or certifications preferred.
- Proven experience (7+ years) managing large-scale aerospace and defense construction projects.
- Strong understanding of aerospace and defense industry standards, regulations, and security protocols.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with project management software and tools.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple complex projects simultaneously.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Must be able to successfully complete an extensive background check.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
