Responsibilities

  • Perform and verify complex boundary analyses using relevant legal principles, statutes, and case law.
  • Prepare high-accuracy survey deliverables, including: ALTA/NSPS surveys, Records of Survey, Boundary and topographic surveys, Short and long plats, subdivision maps, lot line adjustments, Easement exhibits, and legal descriptions.
  • Process and adjust GPS and conventional survey data; perform least-squares adjustments as needed.
  • Conduct advanced COGO calculations, coordinate geometry evaluation, and geodetic analyses.
  • Apply coordinate transformations, rotations, and translations across datasets.
  • Analyze field data, sketches, and digital records for completeness and accuracy.
  • Prepare drawings, mapping files, and supporting survey documents in collaboration with drafting staff.
  • Review deliverables prepared by Survey Technicians for accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain high standards for data integrity, record documentation, and file management.
  • Provide technical input to improve internal standards, procedures, and workflows.
  • Serve as an internal technical resource for boundary resolution, geodetic analysis, and mapping standards.
  • Provide guidance and informal mentorship to Survey Technicians and early-career survey staff.
  • Participate in internal training, knowledge-sharing, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Support the Senior Land Survey Manager and PLS staff by contributing to QA/QC practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geomatics Engineering, Civil Engineering, or equivalent years of experience in Land Surveying.
  • 8-10+ years’ relevant survey experience.
  • Professional Land Surveyor License (LS), preferred.
  • Project Management experience, preferred.
  • General knowledge of computers, Microsoft office, Adobe, Internet, Bluebeam, etc.
  • Proficient experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, required.
  • Effective and professional communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Deep technical expertise in boundary analysis, computations, and mapping tasks.
  • Ability to resolve complex or high-risk surveying assignments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience with COGO calculations, coordinate transformations, and geodetic analyses.
  • Knowledgeable in legal principles, statutes, and case law related to land surveying.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and project teams.
